Stress has been called recently “The disease of the century” and it is affecting more and more people every day. Stress has 4 categories of symptoms:

-          Cognitive: memory loss, anxiety, inability to concentrate

-          Physical: headaches, hand tremor, nausea

-          Emotional: agitation, depression, a sense of loneliness

-          Behavioral: isolation from society, using alcohol, cigarettes and even drugs to relax, nervous habits

But there are 20 easy steps that can help you diminish the stress level in your life:

  1. Always plan ahead, it reduces the risk of unforeseen problems on the way of development
  2. Do a “to do” list, it helps you organize you day at sets your priorities
  3. Finish your tasks on time, don’t bulk up on unfinished business
  4. Take regular breaks, it helps you relax your mind
  5. Take regular vacations
  6. Try to recognize the things you can’t change and focus on those you can, it is a waste of time and energy trying to make the world spin the other way around
  7. Try to always have an optimistic attitude, a negative attitude will get your stress level even higher
  8. Try to reduce exposure to things that upset you, avoid situations or events that might change your mood in a negative way. On the other hand try to do things that brighten you up, thing you like and you enjoy doing.
  9. Maintain your sense of humor
  10. Try to express anger in a constructive way
  11. Exercise every day and least 20 minutes
  12. Get a anti stress ball
  13. Hold your breath and then breathe deeply
  14. Learn how to identify your symptoms of stress
  15. Learn what causes you stress
  16. Pay attention to all signs of stress
  17. Have a regular diet with all the food categories
  18. Try meditation techniques
  19. Keep all noise at a lower level

And rule no.20 is more of an advice – Always remember this: no one said on his death bed: “I wish I had spent more time at the office!”
